LIVINGSTON, TEXAS

May, 2010
The Escapees Park in Livingston, Texas, called Rainbow’s End, is our official home. It is where our mail service is located, and the place where we have registered our vehicles. This is our third visit in seven years, but this time it’s a very special visit.

WASHINGTON PA TO PORT CLINTON OH

Sunday, September 27, 2009
Rain! The drive to Port Clinton, Ohio…on the banks of Lake Erie…took only a few hours but they were mostly rainy hours. Luckily, it stopped raining when we arrived at East Harbor State Park. This was another huge park with camping (with electric hookups), hiking, boat ramps, and a store. Not [...]

STURBRIDGE, MA TO GLOCESTER, RI

Sunday, September 13, 2009

This morning we packed up and moved ourselves to Old Sturbridge Village. Both of us had been here many years ago, but it’s been improved greatly over the past ten years. We spent four hours back in the 1830’s.

Life in South Texas

Our workamping duties, every eighth day, have given us lots of time to explore the tip of Texas. There are several State Parks that are part of the World Birding Center. We’ve seen some species of birds that are found only in this part of the country, along with javelinas and armadillos. We began [...]

Hondo, TX to Corpus Christi, TX

Sunday, October 26, 2008
We’ve often heard about Corpus Christi ( maybe during hurricane season?), so it was time to see it for ourselves. We checked in to Hatch RV Park, it’s showing its age (aren’t we all?), but nice enough, and started out to be tourists.

Deming, New Mexico to Pecos, Texas

Wednesday, October 22, 2008
This drive into West Texas was flat Texas country with very little traffic. In no time at all we were in Pecos, Texas.

Gallup, NM to Williams, AZ

Friday, September 19, 2008
Continuing on Highway 40/Old Route 66, we drove past the Petrified Forest, Winslow, and Flagstaff to Williams, Arizona. Williams exists pretty much as the Gateway to the Grand Canyon so it’s mostly hotels and restaurants.

Hot Water in Thermopolis

Thermopolis, Wyoming is the home of the world’s largest mineral hot springs. The hot springs are located in the Hot Springs State Park which was purchased 100 years ago from the Arapahoe and Shoshone tribes. The tribes sold the land for $60,000 with the understanding that the mineral hot springs would always be available [...]

Yellowstone National Park

How fortunate that Dubois is only a couple of hours from the Tetons, and Yellowstone…truly in our backyard this summer. We decided to treat ourselves to one night at the Old Faithful Inn, early in the season before the “hordes” arrived. It was so relaxing to sit in the immense lobby drinking tea and [...]
